How prevalent is autism? Every 15 seconds a child is diagnosed with autism somewhere in the world (click here to see the Autism Clock: the number of children diagnosed with autism since January 1, 2010). According to the National Autistic Society, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) currently affects 1 in 100 children. In the UK, according to Simon Baron-Cohen from Cambridge University, the rate may be as high as 1 in 56 children. Neither the cause of, nor a cure for ASD is clear, although as the film on the right shows, ASD is often linked to vaccine damage (Vaccines, Infant Deaths, Autism, and Homeopathy – What’s the Connection?)
